PROM & ME

Prom season is upon us ladies. I don’t know about you but it is one of my favorite times of year. Rarely do we ever have an excuse to wear a beautiful gown embellished with shiny rhinestones that make us feel like a real life princess, but prom is our chance. The big question: what do we wear? This is your chance to take your personal style over the top.

When looking for the dress its always good to pick out what kind of style you want first. Make sure you find the silhouette that works for you and your body type. If you are thinking long there are many options. You could do a dress or 2-peice with a full skirt, or a sleek more form fitting style. If you prefer a shorter style there are lots of options available. You can go with a traditional fit and flare, a trendy 2-peice, or a sexy bodycon. Make sure the silhouette you choose not only compliments your figure but you are comfortable as well.

Now select the color or pattern for your dress. This can be many things so lets talk about what was most prominent on the runway for designers spring collections.
Floral prints are big this season, this will show a more feminine and dainty side. Velvet is continuing to make a statement and it is a sexy one. Fringe is back and ready to party, short flapper girl inspired dresses are to die for. Ruffles on ruffles, on sleeves or full skirts you will definitely be making a statement. Embroidery will provide a very unique girlish feel to your prom dress. No matter what you decide to wear on the big night, the team here at Uptown American hopes it is the night of your life.
